Eintracht Braunschweig has signed young defender Frederik Jäkel from RB Leipzig. The 18-year-old comes from Leipzig and started his football career at the Saxony-based club's academy. Jäkel played on loan for Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2025/26 season and has now signed a permanent contract with the club. The defender progressed through all age groups in RB Leipzig's youth academy from 2013 to 2020, before playing on loan for KV Oostende. Alongside the Belgian side, he also played for Arminia Bielefeld, SV Elversberg and Eintracht Braunschweig, playing a total of 45 games. Jäkel will play for 1.FC Köln's U-21 team in the upcoming 2026/27 season.
